**Transferring a .nl domain
** update article
Transferring a .nl domain name is basically quite simple. See the instruction video: Transferring a .nl domain
- Look up the domain name on our website and choose to transfer it; the domain is then added to the cart. You can search by entering the domain name at the top right of our homepage, also if you want to transfer it.
- Then choose the hosting package for the domain name. You can choose it on our homepage, or click properties in the cart and choose the right hosting package there.
- While ordering, you will be asked to enter the auth code/token/EPP code. You can request this code from your current registrar/provider. If you do not know the code yet while ordering, that is no problem. Simply complete the order and afterwards enter the code in the client menu, my products, transfer centre and start the transfer yourself there. Entering the code later can also be useful if you do not want us to start the transfer automatically.
- After ordering you will receive a confirmation from us. If you entered the TOKEN while ordering, the transfer is also carried out and completed immediately.
- PLEASE NOTE! The transfer has only really been carried out once you have received an email from us confirming it! So keep a close eye on this.
Notes
- The transfer is carried out and completed immediately after the token has been entered.
- Your domain name may be in quarantine at your current provider. Search our FAQ for the word quarantine for more information about this.
- After the transfer it can take up to 24 hours before the transfer becomes noticeable. Usually this happens within a few hours.
- No permission from your current provider is needed, but you should inform them of the transfer. That can speed things up.
- We do not charge any extra costs for the transfer.
- If you use the WEBL2 package, you should preferably have your nameservers in order before ordering, otherwise SIDN will reject the transfer.
- You can check nameservers with the SIDN Nameserver check
