MySQL database damaged / repairing tables

A database needs maintenance from time to time (for example analysing tables or simply deleting redundant records), and a database can contain corrupt records or indexes for various reasons. Error messages can then be:

• is marked as crashed and should be repaired
• DB function failed with error number 145

In those cases you can log in to phpMyAdmin, select all tables there and choose 'With selected' 'Repair table' at the bottom. The tables will then be checked, updated and repaired if necessary.
